SHIFT 3 SHIFT 3

Rated 5 / 5 stars July 21, 2008

Very Fun

I loved the entire game, including the player packs. This SHIFT 3 game easily tops the previous SHIFT games by far. The adventure mode also is a great addition. I can't wait for the next one!

Kinda sucks that the secret character was Mel Gibson, though. I definately did not expect that!

911 - Have You Forgotten? 911 - Have You Forgotten?

Effective

The use of that song tied in with the pictures at certain points in the song are very effective in this 9/11 tribute. Different from many other 9/11 tributes, there were many more pictures and facts given here, which should make the score of this flash a decent 8/10 and 4/5.

To Bowserpants and killer-lord:
I understand the feelings about the current politics you have, but try not to let those feelings misinterpret the meanings of a tribute and propaganda. This is a tribute, meant to remind people of what happened on 9/11, not to instigate any blame on who might be responsible for the effects of 9/11. I believe that a 1 and a 0 are not appropriate scores for this tribute.

I liked it!

Considering the age of this game, this was well done. This is a great first game submission for Newgrounds, too. I also got to the extra round and my total score was 432 :D

Nice Game

This is very fun, original, and addicting! Taking into considerations of the factors of momentum and physics, the ball bounces like it should in real life. A much better improvement to the first one.

I enjoyed especially the level with the moving red line that put you under pressure to get the coins and finish within enough time. I could not get past level 18, though. Some "piece of cake"!

5/5 and 10/10

Excellent Game

I thoroughly enjoyed this game. It is challenging, but at the same time, it is also fun. I liked how each character had a different personality, making the plot more realistic. My favorite character, besides myself, would be Shadowboxer, because he has the Dark Vortex that can cause widespread damage. I beat the game, siding with the Academy, and I can give some more tips in the end of the game, but first I would suggest reading mrotten's review first.

Note: I beat this game on Easy, so some statistics are different on Easy than on the other levels.

In order to receive more gold and train, go to the Mechanics' Base, even if you have already destroyed the Golem Workshop. For every battle you win, you get plenty of gold to train yourself and your team. In training myself, I raised my Pyro Blast ability to level 15 or 16 and my Psy Power to about 12 or 13. That brings the non-backstabbed damage of Pyro Blast to 54, which can easily kill the Dark Spriggats, evil Shadowlings, and the Phantoms you see after beating Tastidian. In addition, if you are using Darkling, Shadowboxer, and Festus (I used those three), raise each characters' defense to at least level 10. By that level, Festus improves his Mega Shield and Darkling and Shadowboxer both become Shadow-resistant, which comes in handy when you fight the evil Shadowlings.

In beating The Shadowling Queen, kill all other opponents first. Take out the Energy Golems first, with the exception of the last one on the back of the field. This allows for more coverage and ability to move around easier. Next, use Shadowboxer and Darking to Shadow Blast the Phantoms, making sure that one of the attacks is a backstab. Meanwhile, use yourself to Pyro Blast and one-hit kill the other Phantoms, leaving the Queen alone until the very end.

Defeating the Queen: The Queen can move a maximum of 2 spaces, but her attacks are both ranged and powerful. ALWAYS stay at least THREE spaces away from her, because her Fire Gate attack has a range of three and does 13 damage. Also, unless all of your players are attacking the Queen at once, NEVER get within ONE space of the Queen, otherwise she will use the Holy Sword attack, which does 26 damage directly to the target and 3 or 4 damage to everything next to the Queen. The strategy is this: First, kill all opponents, second, stay out of range of the Queen and restore energy and defense, and third, surround the Queen with three of your players attacking and one healing. I suggest using your other two attackers (besides yourself) to hit the Queen on both sides of her using Mind Blast or Shadow Blast, and use yourself to Pyro Blast the Queen at the same time. It takes about 4 or 5 complete turns to destroy the Queen (her defense is somewhere around 300 on Easy), and after each turn make sure to use your healer on whoever got hit by the Holy Sword.

That is how I beat the game. Kudos to Sinister Design for making this game, as all of that hard work went into making one of the greatest RPG games ever!

Great Game

I liked how there were different types of stages, where not all of them were about hitting a given number of targets. Very original and well done. I got a B+ on the normal mode!

Great job!

This game is great and easy to learn. I like the different warriors you can use, as each have different strengths and weaknesses. Could your next game like this one be a full-world map? That would be excellent!
